brand new
im totally listening to brand new again. i cant stop listening to this cd. i hadnt really listened to it much yet, i got it a while ago loike maybe 6 months ago, and at the time i was way into the mix cd i had made (we all know how obsessive i am, and how i have to listen to something 95 thousand time before i change the cd.. for example, ive been listening to thursday's full collapse on my discman for the past week. mind you, i've been to work like 5 times, and i went to and from nj yesterday.).. so anyway. the cd didnt make it into rotation, bc the reason i'd bought it was bc i left with no cd in my discman. and i got home, and i maybe listened to it here, and then all the sudden it gost lost in my cd abyss. i have like 50 cds all stacked, no cases, just cds. actually, i have two piles now, the one i accumulated while writing the thesis, and the regular pile. so yesterday ryan and i were playing dr mario, and the alkaline cd he requested ended, and it was my turn to pick. and i was trying to be annoying, and i (thought i) suggested we listen to newfoundglory, cos i had just gotten sticks and stones that day.. but i guess since i was thinking it was new, i said "brand new" and ryan said we *had* to listen to brand new now. and i put it on, and i realized that this band is all ive been looking for lately. they dont sound much like the other bands they came from that i used to hang out with.. but its very LI, and i love the way it makes me feel. nostalgic and antsy, like i wanna get up and dance. i feel like im at a show, and i feel home. im out of my element since i left the scene. oooh, im moving back to li, so scene.. you better watch out.. even though yr populated with 12 year olds.. oh yes, yes.. you will be mine. shows every weekend.
oh i forgot to mention that i FINISHED MY THESIS! 67 pages. thats like 8 pages shorter than its supposed to be, but its a first draft. so. fuck it.
anyway i had stuff to say and then i got drawn into talking about brand new. now i wanna do the crossword.
